Pride guide: Rejoice LGBTQ+ New Orleanians with events around the city
Crowds will fill the streets of Recent Orleans next week to celebrate the city’s LGBTQ+ group with parades, festivals and other large events.
The NOLA Lgbtq+ fest Parade is establish to roll through the French Quarter on Saturday, June PrideFest will come back for its 10th year, and be held in the evening to aid people beat the heat. RuPaul’s Performative Race star Kerri Colby will headline the event.
The weekend-long Black Pride celebration will showcase Dark LGBTQ+ culture through various events held across the city.
Below is a instruction to help you keep track of all the happenings. Expect rainbows, glitter, and plenty of food and drinks, music and performative shows.

· NOAGE New Orleans Walking Group; Audubon Park; Magazine St, New Orleans, LA; 6 p.m. NOAGE’s weekly walking group meets on Mondays at PM at the Magazine Highway entrance to Audubon Zoo. They start walking promptly at , so be sure to arrive a few minutes early. Please consult with your first care physician before first stage any new fitness regimen, especially if you are not used to regular exercise. PLEASE NOTE: The walking group will be AUTOMATICALLY CANCELED in the event of inclement weather.
· Cooking with Monica: The Golden Lantern; Royal St., New Orleans, LA; 5 p.m. Come enjoy delicious food cooked by Monica every Monday at 5 p.m. and stay and enjoy cocktails with her till her shift ends

Launched in , New Orleans Pride is a four-day celebration (Thursday-Sunday, June , ) of LGBTQ+ communities and their allies in New Orleans and surrounding areas. It is the only official Pride Festival in Fresh Orleans, the largest in Louisiana, and one of the fastest-growing Pride celebrations in the nation.
New Orleans Pride Weekend Event Highlights
Special events include the Pride Gala, the PrideFest block party outside the Phoenix bar on Elysian Fields in the Marigny, and the annual parade. Both the party and the parade are held on on Saturday, June 14, the block party starting at 5 p.m. and the parade rolling through the French Quarter starting at 3 p.m.
New Orleans Black Pride Weekend coincides with New Orleans Pride Weekend and hosts several events that specifically celebrate queer people of color. In addition to pool and dance parties, the calendar of events also includes a welcome party.
The New Orleans Dark Pride Community Fest
It started in in New York City on the evening of June 17th. The Stonewall Inn, a very popular lgbtq+ hangout in the Greenwich Village section of the city, was packed with its usual crowd. What was somewhat unusual about the night was that New York City Alcohol and Beverage Control Board agents, along with a group of NYPD officers, raided the bar to enforce a seldom-used law. This action was not uncommon, as raids on gay establishments were carried out around the urban area with virtually no resistance. Patrons were escorted out of their gathering places, sometimes by force, occasionally beaten, and quite regularly arrested for no just reason. And in truth, the raid on this night was the second on that very establishment in less than seven days.
But there was one thing very distinct about this night. Queer woman and gay men decided spontaneously and for the very first time to fight the police harassment. The crowd, both inside and outside of the bar, erupted with forceful resistance as the officers began to pick and choose which customers wou
