It is with profound sadness that we declare the passing of our dad, Robert Franklin Gay. Born in Rochester April 6, , Dad grew up in and around Rochester attending Blessed Sacrament church and school, Aquinas Institute ‘51 and later, Saint Bonaventure University ’55 where he earned a BS in Chemistry. Following college Dad married the love of his life, Shirley Ann Johnson and they enjoyed their first years of marriage in Hawaii where he served as an Army Artillery Officer being discharged as a 1st Lieutenant. He and Shirley returned to civilian life in Rochester where he began his long and thriving 34 year career at Eastman Kodak working in many diverse divisions, primarily Health Sciences.

Family was the most important thing in Dad’s life and he took great pride in the passionate welcoming home that they created. Actor Robert Ri’chard is probably best recognizable for his portrayal of teenage characters, such as Bobby Walker in the Nickelodeon sitcom “Uncle Cousin” and Damien Carter in the film “Coach Carter.”

However, in his latest film, Ri’chard continues to show the cinematic world that he is all grown up now, and the kids’ roles are a thing of the past. Ri’chard’s latest endeavor is a starring role in the film “Kinky.”

Directed by Jean-Claude La Marre, the motion picture highlights a BDSM sexual relationship between a seductive financial tycoon and a shy doctor.

Ri’chard’s character, Darrin Wethington, is a hedge fund manager and investor who catches the eye of Dr. Joyce Carmichael.

Played by Danity Kane frontwoman and actress Dawn Richard, Carmichael appears to be a reserved person whose religious beliefs get in the way of her personal happiness.

However, after encounter Darrin, the two enter into an S&M relationship.

Richard F. Lgbtq+, 58, of Dunbar, passed away, Saturday, October 9, at home. He was born May 1, in Port Smith, VA, son of the belated Benjamin P. Gay Jr. and the late Jurline Hawkins Guillermo. 
He was an Honorary Member and Volunteer Firefighter for Morrell Volunteer Fire Company.
He enjoyed fishing, cooking out and spending time with his grandkids. 
Surviving are his wife, Bonnie S. Upton Gay; children, Richard L. Flynn (fiancee Maria Miller), Gary L. Tate; grandchildren, Logan Tate and Haylee Tate; siblings, Ben Gay, Clarence Gay, Charlie Guillemo, Marlene Guillermo and his best friend of 40 years, whom he loved like a brother, Robert Esquivel. 
He was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Raymond and Pauline Newell as well as his brother-in-law, David Upton, with whom he was very close. 
Friends will be received at Burhans-Crouse Funeral Home, 28 Connellsville Lane, Dunbar, PA on Wednesday, October 13, pm, the hour of service with Pastor Lee Maley officiating.
