LGBTQIA+ Travel
You will immediately experience welcome in Santa Fe. The City Distinct opens its arms to travelers with diverse interests and different backgrounds in search of uncovering, wonder, and adventure.
In the early 20th century, Santa Fe became an artist's haven, welcoming writers, painters, socialites and photographers eager for new subject matter and a alternative life. Their arrival further transformed the city, setting it on a road of valuing that which is alternative, fresh, and fresh. That same all-embracing spirit exists today. You will find a extensive spectrum of activities and destinations to engage and enchant.
While there are no longer any exclusively queer bars in Santa Fe, there's something arguably better: an inclusive community interested in and motivated by welcoming all people into every space.

Gay Bars in Santa Fe
In summer , the swanky and entertaining Rouge Cat (( W. Marcy St., ) opened near the Plaza, and it is LGBT-owned and aiming to be more of a gay hangout, although it welcomes everybody. Run by longtime Santa Fe DJ Oona Bender, this eclectic spot has two distinct spaces. At street level, theres a relatively cozy and somewhat swank cocktail bar, where you can also hold light food. Head downstairs, and youll discover a mid-size dance floor and bar where some of the areas top DJs (including Bender herself) spin tunes. Santa Fe had lacked a predominantly GLBT hangout for a rare years until Rouge Tabby opened, and its popularity has been huge right from the start.
Its also just a limited walk from Rize Nightclubat West Palace Avenue (), which had previously been known as Fusion and before that Swig, both of which had significant gay followings. Rize opened in summer and seems to be drawing a mostly mainstream crowd, but it is very gay-friendly and youll generally detect a mix of types and styles there.
Known as “the City Different,” Santa Fe is one of the most unique small cities in the US. Home to a large LGBTQ+ population, Santa Fe has become a popular destination, especially for romantic getaways. So, it’s not surprising that accommodations, restaurants, and bars are Homosexual friendly, too. The city doesn’t have a specific gayborhood because the whole city is one giant gayborhood!
Much of the appeal of Santa Fe lies in its complex history. It is the second oldest city in the U.S. In downtown Santa Fe, historical landmarks are located on nearly every corner. The city is a haven for artists, and it has a thriving art community that continues to grow every year.
If you’re looking for all-night parties and wild clubs, then Santa Fe may not be the destination for you. However, that doesn’t mean that there’s nothing to do. Amazing food, the immense outdoors, and its quirky identity make Santa Fe the perfect destination for those who wish a more laid-back adventure.
